Korea has many top universities, including:

  • Seoul National University (SNU)
  • Korea University (KU)
  • Yonsei University (YU)
  • KAIST (for science & engineering)
  • POSTECH (for science & tech)

You can study in Korean or English. Some programs (especially at top universities) are fully in English.

Each university has its own criteria, but common requirements include:

  • High school diploma (for undergrad) or a bachelor’s degree (for master’s/PhD)
  • TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) if applying for a Korean-taught program
    English proficiency test (TOEFL, IELTS) for English programs
  • Recommendation letters & personal statement
  • Financial proof (to show you can support your studies)

Many scholarships are available, including:

  • Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) – Full tuition, airfare, living expenses
  • University Scholarships – Many schools offer discounts or full funding
  • Private & Government Grants – Some organizations sponsor students

To study in Korea, you need a D-2 visa. Requirements include:

  • Admission letter from a Korean university
  • Financial proof (bank statement or sponsor letter)
  • Visa application & processing fee
  • Health insurance proof
  • Tuition: $3,000 – $6,000 per semester (depends on the university)
  • Dormitory: $300 – $800 per month
  • Food: $300 – $500 per month
  • Transportation: $50 – $100 per month
  • Miscellaneous: $100 – $300 per month

As an international student, you can work part-time (max 20 hours/week during semesters and unlimited during vacations). You’ll need to:
